Salvatore Barone

Salvatore Barone is a Tenured Assistant Professor (subject area IINF-05/A, ex ING-INF/05  09/H1, Information processing systems) at the Department of Science and Information Technologies, Pegaso University, Italy. 

In the past years of his career,  Salvatore Barone has been a research fellow (RTDa L. 240/2010) at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Naples Federico II, and invited post-doc researcher at the Institute Nanotechnology De Lyon – École Centrale de Lyon – Université de Lyon – Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, as an expert in the field of integrated digital circuit design and test.

He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, earned in 2022 from the University of Naples Federico II, and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, earned in 2022 in 2018 from the same University.

His research activities are focused on the design of high-performance computing systems, embedded systems, safety-critical systems, as well as FPGA-based systems, in diverse contexts and fields of application, including machine-learning and artificial intelligence. These activities, both practical and theoretical in nature, are carried out in collaboration with international academic institutions as well as national and international companies.
