Mission & Vision

The center

A research hub.

The Research Center on Computer Vision and Extended Reality (xRAI) is an interdisciplinary research hub within the Department of Information Sciences and Technologies at Pegaso University.
Our primary goal is to drive advancements in artificial intelligence, computer vision, human-computer interaction, and extended reality. We are committed to pioneering innovations that can impact society, with a special focus on healthcare, cultural heritage, and education.

The Vision

AI to empower humans, exactly when needed.

We delve into, experiment with, and critically analyze concepts of artificial intelligence and extended reality that are not confined to a device, but are perceptible through our senses, enhancing our capabilities and learning from our experiences.
Our diverse scientific community is committed to transforming these ideas into impactful new applications, all with the aim of improving learning, enhancing living, and optimizing work.

The Mission

To innovate and test pioneering systems that can enhance individuals’ daily activities.

From healthcare to cultural heritage, from education to industry, we are dedicated to integrating our varied technical expertise into inspiring real-world solutions, collaborating closely with end-users.

The Projects

Critical mass to make a difference.

We propose and participate in research projects on a European, National, and Regional scale to work on high-level issues that require a significant critical mass to design new solutions.
